Frequently Asked Questions
A manicure is a finger nail service in which we shape your nails, push back the cuticles, cut the dead skin around your cuticles, clean under the free edges, buff your nails, then massage your hands and arms, and finally apply your favorite color polish to your nails.
You have to apply a nail-hardening product to your nails. There are some good nail hardeners for the treatment of soft, peeling, bitten, weak, thin or brittle nails. You may also ask your doctor if you need to take calcium diet supplement.
Find a good top coat and apply one thin coat every two or three days (don’t forget the front edges of the nails). We carry a very good top coat, which is one of the best top coats on the market now.
A Pedicure includes trimming, shaping, and polishing toenails. It also includes foot massage and the removal of ingrown toenails and any callous or dead skin on the bottom of your feet.
Absolutely they can, and they have to. In fact, men need a regular Manicure and Pedicure to have soft skin and good nail shape (of course without any color).
Once every two weeks for a Manicure and once a month for a Pedicure will bring maximum results in softening your cuticles, your hands and your feet, and in keeping your nails healthy, growing faster and in good shape.
A traditional French Manicure is a nail style with white polish or paint is applied to the free edge to make it look whiter than normal, and a baby pink, beige or peach polish is applied over the whole nail to give the rest of the nail a healthy look. This style looks elegant on any occasion and matches every color of your outfits. Today, with the “fancy” French Manicure, the free edge can be any color – not just white, and the shape of the color at the free edge can be any shape – not just smile line, like chevrons, reverse chevrons, a row of flowers or other art, etc.
An American Manicure is an alternative to the traditional French Manicure. It usually consists of a stark white tip (an off-white polish) and a sheer pink or beige on the nail bed.
There is a subtle difference about the white color at the free edge. Most people think of the French Manicure as having very white tip where as the American Manicure is more natural looking with softer white tip.
The French/American Manicure, or any clear, light or white color, will turn yellow if you overexpose your nails to the sun, heat or tanning bed. We have a special top coat that helps reducing the yellowing of your French/American Manicure.
Artificial Nails include Acrylic, Silk, Fiberglass, Linen, Paper, and Gel. Standing out from the crowd is Acrylic due to its strength, durability, and affordable price. Acrylic is the most popular artificial nail now.
Silk/Fiberglass Nail is lighter and looks natural; however, it won’t stay very well if you happen to wash your hands a lot. Acrylic Nail is much stronger, and you can do almost any kind of work. A skillful nail technician can make Acrylic Nail also look natural and light. There are two more good things about Acrylic Nail: you pay less money and spend less time at nail salon.
The safe and regular nail extension is no more than 1/3 the length of the nail bed. This length is also good for the beginner. You should be very careful if your nail is longer than half of the nail bed; and it’s very dangerous if your nail is longer than the length of your nail bed.
No, they can’t. However, mould and fungus can grow under the artificial nails, which are lifting, cracking or breaking, and even under the natural nails, because of lacking a regular and professional nail care.
There is absolutely no reason for you to worry about wearing artificial nails. Today, many preventive medicines are available to you, which, when used daily, will condition your nails and cuticles, and also prevent you from getting the mould or fungus. Ask our nail technicians about these products.

There are five common nail shapes:
*Square: The free edge is straight across. This shape is strong because of its full width at the free edge. This shape may cause injury to the skin because of its sharp corners.
*Round: The free edge is round comforting to the fingertip. Male customers usually choose this shape because of their natural round fingertip.
*Oval: The free edge is oval. Most professional customers who usually have their hands on display choose this shape. It looks attractive.
*Pointed: Top of the free edge is narrow and pointed. This shape is suited to thin hands with narrow nail beds; however, it is weak and breaks easily.
*Square-Round: This shape is the combination of square shape and round shape. The front edge of the free edge is straight across with the corners rounded off. This shape is strong and suited to those who work with their hands. It looks young and is the most popular nail shape now.
No, you may not. When you glue your lifted nails, you may trap the moisture and dirt under your nails, and fungus may start growing. You need to go to a nail salon to have a proper and professional repair.
Apply top coat every two or three days, wear gloves when gardening and doing dishes, dry under your nails with the hair dryer after taking a shower, and return to your nail salon every two weeks for the maintenance service usually called “Fill”, “Refill” or “Fill-In”.
You may. But that’s not a good idea, because nail salon is not a safe place for kids due to the hazards of all equipments and chemicals. Should you bring your children along, they must be kept with you the entire time in the salon. However, you cannot expect your nail tech to do a good job while your child is sitting on your lap (or you are talking on the phone, or your lover is kissing you).
Please remember that keeping your nails beautiful, healthy and in good shape is your responsibility with the help of your trustworthy nail technician.
Having beautiful nails will make you feel proud of yourself, and also will make you look more attractive and distinguished in the crowd.
